My Story

With a consulting career spanning over two decades, I work across sectors, including financial services, professional services, technology, engineering, media, retail, SMEs and more.

I’m a consultant, facilitator, non-executive and author dedicated to developing leaders and organisations through innovative, and impactful collaboration.

I’m driven by helping individual leaders and organisations to find their footing and reach their full potential. My work is based on the belief that people are brilliant, leadership can be learnt and that self-awareness, capability, confidence, and courage make a difference.

I find inspiration, ideas and learning everywhere, especially in art and music which I bring into my work. I’m as likely to think about an amazing band or groundbreaking artist as an example of high performance as I am a weighty business case study. It frees the thinking and makes life more joyful.

I have three areas of focus:

Developing capable, confident, courageous leaders.

Helping teams reach their highest potential.

Clear thinking: Developing and implementing organisational strategy.

My Style

Above all, I believe in the potential of people.
I think potential is realised not in straight lines but through open minds, exploration, curiosity, great relationships, and swapping self-consciousness for self-awareness, learning, and practice.

Strategy for an uncertain future can be defined, leadership for turbulent times can be learnt and teams can overcome self-imposed limits to exceptional performance.

To do all of this we need time, to think, relate, create, and practice. We also need time for ourselves.

My consultancy work is defined by making creative space for thinking, developing and practising the self-awareness, confidence, capability and courage needed to navigate an ambiguous world.
"Leadership is brave, creative and inclusive."

My Non-Executive Practice

Outside my consultancy work, I try to practice what I preach as a Trustee. I have had Board roles in Heritage, Housing and Culture.

I’m the Chair of 20 Stories High, a theatre company based in Liverpool. Before that I was a Trustee with the Sefton Park Palm House Trust and Deputy Chair of  Plus Dane Housing Group and the Unity Theatre.

I have recently become a Board Trustee at FACT (the Foundation for Art and Creative Technologies) in Liverpool.

Working with all these extraordinary organisations has given me a perspective on the pleasure and pain of leadership. From the toughest decisions in change, the thrill of creating successful strategies, the discipline of good governance and making space for talented people to be exceptional.

My vision extends beyond traditional leadership development: I aim to bridge the gap between culture and business, creating a melting pot of ideas that fosters innovation and growth.

I believe my ability to synthesise diverse inputs and create innovative solutions ensures that organisations and leaders are equipped to face their challenges with flexibility and confidence.
